Dennou Coil

Denn Coil, Coil — A Circle of Children, is a Japanese science fiction anime television series that depicts a near future in which semi-immersive augmented reality technology has only recently begun to permeate the public. The story is set in the fictitious city of Daikoku, a hub of augmented reality development with a developing citywide virtual infrastructure. It follows a group of children as they utilize augmented reality glasses to investigate the mysteries of a half-real, half-Internet metropolis by manipulating the digital terrain with a range of unlawful software tools, tactics, and virtual pets. Denn Coil, which has been in production for over a decade, marks the series debut of Japanese animator Mitsuo Iso. On May 12, 2007, it premiered on NHK Educational Television. Denn Coil was greatly anticipated due to the animators involved in its production and its unusually prominent television broadcast time slot.
